Appellate written and oral advocacy is a very unique discipline only an elite few ever master.  Marisa Janine-Page is a certified appellate specialist by the State Bar Board of Legal Specialization and admitted to practice in all state and federal appellate courts in California as well as the Supreme Court of the United States.  Appellate lawyers scrutinize volumes of trial and pretrial records and transcripts to distill only the most pertinent facts, issues, and law for appellate argument to the court of appeals. Marisa is also a trial attorney, making her uniquely qualified to advise clients at all stages of litigation. EMPLOYMENT

Disputes involving the workplace can be a distressing experience. Marisa Janine-Page has over 25 years in employment law and is ready to assist you with all your labor and employment needs. Whether employee or employer, she is accomplished in the area of employment litigation at the individual, class action, and PAGA representative levels. In addition to litigation, arbitration, and administrative hearings, Marisa supports employers with general day-to-day human resources and employment consulting, including creating customized employee handbooks, composing company policies, advising on hiring procedures, drafting employment agreements, investigating discrimination, sexual harassment, and other employment related claims, and delivering probation warnings and termination notices.  She offers her clients full service from interviewing, hiring, onboarding, management, disciplinary, to termination.

EDUCATION LAW

Consumer protection law involves complex areas in a landscape of trolling plaintiffs who file hundreds of copycat cases.  These cases cover everything from website consumer protection claims (Consumer Privacy Act, Privacy Rights Act, Online Privacy Protection Act, Invasion of Privacy Act, and Unfair Competition Law) to false advertising/unfair business practices, to data breaches, to surcharges.  They also target issues like privacy, credit, and fraud.  Claims often involved class actions or individual suits against companies, alleging complex federal and state laws.
